GB28181 Automation Testing Tool

The GB28181 Automation Testing Tool is a crucial asset for testing security monitoring systems. It can perform independent tests on DVRs or surveillance cameras that support the GB281 protocol before they are connected to a service platform. The tool comes with detailed user instructions.

Configuration of GB28181 Equipment

Enable Connection: Ensure that the connection is enabled.

SIP Server IP: Input the IP address of the computer running the automation testing tool.

Device Serial Number and Channel Number: Fill out the table with the device's serial number and channel number. For multi-channel devices, video channel numbers should increase sequentially.

Other Settings: Keep other settings default (the default registration password is 12345678).

Click "Confirm".

Process to Add Devices

Enter Device IP Address: Input the IP address of the device to be tested.

Local IP: Choose the IP address of the computer running the automated testing tool, which should match the "SIP Server IP" in Figure 1.

Device Type: Select the device type as IPC, DVR, or NVR, depending on the device.

Domain Configuration: Keep the sipID and sip domain in the domain configuration set to default.

Recording Time Setting: Set the start and end time to specify the recording time range for review. Ensure that all video channels have recordings during this period, and the time format must be yyyy-MM-ddThh:mm:ss.

Click "Confirm" to save the settings.

Running Test Cases

Select Test Cases: Click to select or manually choose the relevant test cases.

Run: Click "Run" to start the test cases automatically.

Completion Notification: After the test cases complete, a pop-up notification will appear. You can also manually stop the test.

Test results will be displayed under the test case tree, with green indicating a pass and red indicating a failure.

Notes:

Incompatible Functions: For devices with incompatible functions, cancel the relevant test cases. For example, for IPCs that do not support PTZ control, cancel the "PTZ Control" test case.

Testing Sequence: When testing, run the test cases first, then register the device with the testing tool. Specifically, start by clicking "Run" on the automated testing tool, and then change the heartbeat interval (to around 60 seconds) on the device's Web "GB28181" page and click "Confirm" to ensure the test proceeds normally. A failed "Registration" test case usually indicates this issue.

Interactive Operations: Some test cases require immediate user interaction to proceed normally:

Video Channel Arm/Disarm and Alarm: When prompted, manually enable the video block alarm on the first channel within 60 seconds.

Alarm Channel Arm/Disarm and Alarm: When prompted, manually enable the IO alarm on the first channel within 60 seconds.

PTZ Control: When prompted, respond "Yes" or "No" within 5 seconds based on whether the PTZ is functioning correctly.

Full Recording: When prompted, immediately choose "Yes" or "No" based on whether the full recording control is effective.

Video and Audio Codecs: The current national standard video supports H.264 codec, and audio supports G711.a codec with a sampling rate of 8K. If there are issues with video or audio, check the corresponding codec settings.

Capture Logs: Each time the tool runs, it automatically saves GB28181 messages and media interaction captures to the path cache\GB28181\Capture under the automated testing tool's working directory.
